Monthly International Dance Music Jam
Once a month, the IFS give up their usual Monday night practice to form the core for the jam. Musicians and singers can come, and range from relative beginners to very advanced. All are welcome. There are often as many as 15 or 20 musicians seated in a circle. It’s a friendly group and you don’t have to be a hot shot. It does help to be able to read music. All of the music has chords, so chord instruments like the guitars can play rhythm. Nearly all of the music has B flat versions, so bring that clarinet. The repertoire draws from many different areas including the Balkans, Russia, Scandanavia, Armenia, Israel, Turkey, U.S. and many others.
Usually the third Monday of each month (except June, see below).
8:00 – 9:30 p.m. (Come a little early to set up.)
